Netley Hall Wedding Photographer | Lizzie & Josh’s Shropshire Wedding
There is something really lovely about photographing a wedding somewhere new for the first time. New corners to explore, new light to find, new backdrops to fall a little bit in love with — and Netley Hall absolutely gave me all of that.
Lizzie and Josh’s wedding was my first time at Netley Hall, and I was there capturing both photo and film, which made it even more special. Hybrid wedding days always feel like such a beautiful way to tell the story — the still moments, the movement, the atmosphere, the little in-between bits that might otherwise pass by in a blur.
And Netley Hall was such a gorgeous setting for it all.

A Shropshire Wedding Venue Full of Character
Netley Hall is set in the Shropshire countryside, just outside Shrewsbury, and it has that lovely mix of grandeur and warmth. It feels elegant without being too formal, impressive without losing the relaxed feel that makes a wedding day flow naturally.
From the moment I arrived, there were so many beautiful spaces to work with. The Hall itself has that classic country house feel, while the grounds give you plenty of room for portraits, guest photos and those quieter little moments away from the busyness of the day.
For couples planning a wedding in Shropshire, it is easy to see why Netley Hall is such a popular venue. It has indoor spaces for ceremonies and receptions, lovely gardens, countryside views and plenty of character throughout — which is exactly what you want as a photographer. It means the day has variety, and your gallery feels full of different textures, light and little pockets of story.

Photographing and Filming a Wedding at Netley Hall
For Lizzie and Josh’s day, I was shooting both photography and video, so I was constantly looking for those moments that would work beautifully as still images, but also come alive on film.
That is what I love about hybrid coverage. It is not about turning the day into a production. It is about gently capturing the feeling of it.
The way people move.
The way a dress catches the light.
The laughter between guests.
The quiet little glances.
The atmosphere of the venue.
The couple just being themselves.
Netley Hall worked so well for that. There were lots of lovely areas to explore, and because it was my first wedding there, I had that excitement of seeing everything with fresh eyes. I always love going somewhere new because it makes me look a little harder, wander a little further, and find those little spots that feel right for the couple rather than just doing the obvious.
