Newborn Photography in Shropshire
Natural, Relaxed & Full of Love
Those first few weeks are a blur — tiny fingers, milk-drunk cuddles, and wondering how someone so small can completely change everything.
I offer natural, lifestyle newborn photography in Shropshire, capturing real moments in a calm, unhurried way. No awkward posing, no pressure, and absolutely no expectation for your baby to “perform” — we simply take things as they come.
You can choose to have your newborn session in your own home or in my cosy studio in Oswestry, whatever feels easiest for you and your baby.

My Approach to Newborn Photography
I keep newborn sessions gentle, baby-led and very relaxed.
I don’t believe in rushing, forcing poses or working to a stopwatch. There’s time for feeds, cuddles, settling and those moments where you just stop and look at your baby in disbelief.
I’ll guide you when needed, but mostly I’ll step back and let things unfold naturally. These sessions are about connection — the way you hold your baby, the way they curl into you, and the quiet moments in between.
And yes, siblings are always welcome. Chaos and all.

Newborn Photography at Home or in the Studio
Every family is different, which is why I offer newborn photography either at home or in the studio.
Newborn Photography at Home
At-home newborn sessions are perfect if you’d rather stay in your pyjamas, keep everything familiar and not worry about leaving the house with a tiny human.
We can photograph in your living room, bedroom or nursery — wherever the light is best and you feel most comfortable. These sessions feel very personal and beautifully real, capturing life as it actually looks right now.
Studio Newborn Photography in Oswestry
Studio newborn sessions take place in my Oswestry studio, which is warm, calm and designed to feel homely rather than clinical. Think soft light, neutral tones and a relaxed atmosphere — not a stark white space.
It’s a great option if you’d like a simple, timeless backdrop (and a break from thinking about whether the house needs tidying).
Both options are slow, baby-led and focused on natural moments — the only difference is where we’re drinking our tea.

When to Book Your Newborn Session
The ideal time for newborn photography is usually within the first 2–3 weeks, but lifestyle sessions are flexible and can work beautifully later too.
If you can, I recommend booking during pregnancy. We’ll pop a note in the diary around your due month and then adjust once your baby arrives — because babies, as it turns out, don’t always stick to schedules.

Newborn Photography Packages
I offer three simple newborn photography packages, designed to suit different families and budgets.
All sessions include a relaxed shoot, professionally edited images and a private online gallery, so you can choose your favourites in your own time (usually while feeding a baby at 3am).

What to Expect on the Day
Whether we’re photographing your newborn at home or in the studio, sessions are calm, unhurried and completely baby-led.
Most sessions last around 1–2 hours, with plenty of time for feeds, cuddles, changes and the odd pause to admire just how tiny your baby’s fingers are.
There’s no pressure for your baby to sleep, smile or behave in any particular way. We simply go with the flow.

Frequently Asked Questions
What should we wear for our newborn photoshoot?
Soft, neutral tones and comfy clothes always photograph beautifully. Think creams, greys, soft browns, muted pastels and gentle textures like knits or linen.
There’s no need to go out and buy anything special — simple, well-loved pieces often work best. Once you’re booked, I’ll send you a straightforward prep guide with outfit ideas for parents, siblings and baby to help everything flow together naturally.
Do parents and siblings appear in the photos?
Always. These sessions are about family, not perfection.
Siblings are very welcome (chaos and all), and parents are encouraged to be in the photos too. Some of the most meaningful images come from those in-between moments — cuddles, giggles, and the way everyone naturally gathers around your new baby.
What if my baby cries or needs feeding?
That’s completely normal — and expected.
Newborn sessions are calm, baby-led and unhurried, with plenty of time for feeds, cuddles and settling. There’s absolutely no pressure for your baby to sleep or behave in a certain way. We simply go at your baby’s pace and take as many breaks as needed.
Can we choose between a home or studio session?
Yes — you can choose either.
Some families love the comfort and familiarity of being at home, while others prefer the simplicity of my Oswestry studio, which is warm, calm and designed to feel relaxed rather than clinical.
If you’re unsure which option would suit you best, I’m always happy to talk it through and help you decide.
Do you offer newborn photography near me?
I’m based in Oswestry and offer newborn photography across Shropshire, Cheshire and North Wales.
Sessions can take place either in your own home or in my Oswestry studio, depending on what works best for you and your baby. If you’re unsure whether I cover your area, just drop me a message — I’m always happy to check.
When will we receive our photos?
Your fully edited gallery will be ready within 2–3 weeks of your newborn session.
I carefully hand-edit each image, keeping everything soft, natural and timeless. Once your gallery is ready, you’ll receive a private online link where you can view, download and choose your favourites in your own time.
