Updated: Feb 17, 2020

Personal Branding Sessions is a new service which I have recently added to my portfolio, it's a a great opportunity to show off you and your brand. Whether you're a florist, cake maker, restaurant owner or even a dog groomer, people want to know about the person behind the business.

During the session we create a selection of branding images that tell the story of you and your personal brand. I work closely with you to create images which can be used on all forms communication from print to screen. It's more than just headshots, it's about giving your customers an insight about you and your business.

Did you know that Instagram has over 1 billion users every month, the way we market to people is changing, so it's a great opportunity to have lots of content for your social media platforms.

With a buzz about buying local and shopping small, this is also a great opportunity to show your face, show who you are and give people an insight into your business.

Sessions start from £100 please contact me for a bespoke quote.

Anna won a social media giveaway I was running as a celebration of small business. Anna is the owner of Evelyn & Elliot in Shrewsbury, she makes bespoke unique award winning personalised stationary for all occasions.

I thought a little interview to go along with her branding session was a great way to get to know Anna.

Hi Anna....

How did you start Evelyn and Elliot?

I’ve always wanted to have my own business, ever since graduating with a BA Honours degree in Surface Pattern Design. I never thought I had the courage to set up on my own until nearly loosing my daughter when she was 4 months old. This made me realise that I should just go for it and with the support of my whole family, in 2015 that’s exactly what I did and I’ve loved every minute since!

Where did the name come from? My daughter Mia and my eldest son Joseph’s middle names. I’ve had another child since so I’m sure Isaac will question his involvement when he’s old enough!

What did you do before Evelyn and Elliot? I worked for a leading Greeting Card company designing handmade greeting cards with some very lovely people. I remember seeing my first card in the shops and felt so excited!

If you could make wedding stationery for any celebrity couple who would it be?

That’s a tough one... it would be amazing to make stationery for Lady Gaga as I’m sure it would be a very unique, fabulous bespoke design!!

Favourite make?

I don’t really have a favourite make as every bespoke design I create is so different. I do love to design the whole wedding stationery suite from ‘save the dates’ to ‘on the day’ stationery. I love how everything ties in and creates a theme for the day. I also really enjoy making birth box frames for new babies.

Biggest achievement? Obviously my family but career wise it would have to be building my business alongside my 3 small children. It’s definitely not easy and some very late nights but I am proud of how much I’ve learnt and excited to continue on my journey. And of course winning my first ever award for stationery supplier of the year West Midlands in November 2019.

Proudest moment? One of my proudest work moments has to be moving in to my studio with the help of my whole family. They all worked so hard to build, insulate and paint it and together we have made an amazing place for me to work. It’s such a calm environment where I can completely switch off and get absorbed in my designs.

What do you love most about owning your own business?

I love the freedom it gives me to choose my own hours and to be there for my children. I love how each of my customers are so unique and inspiring and I get excited about each new design.

What do you dislike the most? Tax!

Future plans for your business? I still have a lot to learn. I’m hoping to make improvements to my website, social media, product photography, introduce new concepts and to do more collaborations.

Favourite cake flavour? Ooooh I can’t decide!! Erm..Chocolate and Carrot cake definitely and I have a weakness for Salted Caramel from the birds nest in Shrewsbury

Favourite small local business? There are so many amazing local businesses who are all so talented, work so hard and produce fantastic work. I’ve been lucky enough to work with several and I have made so many friends in the industry and I’m so thankful for that. I think they are all fantastic at what they do but if I have to pick one it would have to be Polly Pea! Sarah and I worked together at Uk Greetings and we have become good friends starting our self employed journeys together. Sarah makes amazing children’s clothes and accessories using fun unique fabrics and has a shop in Shrewsbury Market Hall.
