The Sweeney
The Sweeney Hotel has held a special place in my heart for many years. Watching how Sean and Kara have lovingly transformed the barn into such a beautifully rustic space has been a joy. It offers couples a relaxed, character-filled alternative setting at The Sweeney to say their I do’s — one that feels personal, meaningful and full of heart.
Set quietly at the rear of the hall, the barns are surrounded by open outdoor space, giving weddings a wonderful sense of freedom and calm. There’s a real feeling of stepping away from the world, where everything slows down and the focus shifts to the people and the moments that matter most.
The Garden Room, where wedding breakfasts are now hosted, is another gorgeous addition. It never stops amazing me how a seemingly simple space is transformed into something truly special — filled with laughter, love and thoughtful details. Once the room fills with your favourite people, it becomes more than just a place to eat; it becomes the backdrop to stories, speeches, happy tears and memories that will be talked about for years to come.

The Barn
